About the artwork:

This ceramic sculpture inhabits visual researching’s on the impacts of the male gaze, of which we often do not see. The torso’s display scratches and punch marks, communicating abuse women face, leaving them objectified. This happens for many women, often more than we know of. These women are not viewed as a person, but merely a body. The use of wigs dominates female empowerment back and showcasing the reality of what happens for women and the knowledge that it does not define them.
